Animal Guide

Raising animals in FarmVille can be fun and quite enjoyable if you know exactly what you are doing, it can even be quite rewarding as well. Getting the best combination of profitability, as well as space for each animal will help you to get the best overall earnings out of your farm, and also help you to increase the size of your farm much faster.

As a general rule of thumb, there are several things to keep in mind. The first is that all animals in FarmVille take up space. The amount of space depends on the size of the animal. The other is that each animal has a profitability margin that depends on the animal’s production. This means simply put, that they are only capable of earning you a specific amount of coins for each day.

Large Animals

Horses

These are one of the lesser animals in that they really do not provide much to your farm, but rather just look cool hanging around. After all, who ever heard of a farm with no horse? Each horse produces horse hair every 69 hours, or 3 days. Additionally, the hair only sells for 84 coins, and when combined to the size that they take up, make them a less common animal to have than others. To obtain a horse, you will need a friend to gift it to you.

Cows

Another large animal, the cow provides you the opportunity to gather milk once every 23 hours, or daily. This can enable you to quickly have something that you can harvest and earn coins on, however the amount of coins that you earn is quite low are only 6. Additionally a cow can take up as much space as 4 other animals making it a very expensive purchase since you must purchase the cow for 300 coins to obtain one.

Sheep

While smaller than the cow, the sheep is not a great option in terms of profitability. By producing wool every 69 hours or 3 days, you have a large amount of space used with the sheep. The wool itself sells for 28 coins, and while a better rate than the cows, is not quite as good as some other animals. To obtain a sheep, you must purchase them from the marketplace for 700 coins.

Small Animals

Goat

The goat is one of the best animals to have on the farm. With milk produced every 46 hours or 2 days, you will find that the milk sells for an impressive 54 coins at the market. This makes it the most profitable animal that you will find. The goat is only available as a gift from friends though, and requires you to find a few nice friends who are willing to send you several. To help really improve your profits, the goat only requires a small square which makes it highly ideal to get as many as possible into a small space.

Pig

Offering truffles every 46 hours or 2 days, the pig is a good choice to have around the farm. As a small animal if can be good for providing a bit of a combination of animals on your farm without taking up much space. Selling the truffles will earn you 30 coins each time and can help you to quickly earn some money if you have several pigs on your farm.

Duck

Harvesting the warm and inviting down feathers every 46 hours or 2 days will quickly earn the duck a loyal place on your farm. At prices of 45 coins each time, they are the second most profitable animal available. However getting a duck is only possible when received as a gift from a friend. Making sure to keep a couple of ducks around can help you to quickly acquire the money needed to upgrade the farm, or purchase new items.

Chicken

Quite small, and producing at a rapid pace the chicken offers up fresh eggs once a day or every 23 hours. This gives you plenty to sell at the market where you earn a tiny 8 coins for each. While the overall profits of chickens themselves is quite low, they are highly popular and many people purchase them from the marketplace.

Rabbit

Warm and inviting angora wool is gathered every 92 hours or 4 days from the rabbit which makes it a super soft animal, but at only 60 for each harvest, not a very profitable one. Putting efforts into other animals will yield a much higher profit, but since the rabbit is only available as a gift from friends does not hurt you to have around.

Careful comparing each of the animals to find the best fit for your needs will help you to ensure you get the perfect match at a cost to your farm that you can afford both in actual cost, as well as space.
